Today we were delighted and somewhat shocked to find two £50 notes had been stuffed into our donation box. The box, which is emptied every night, regularly receives loose change from our shop customers, but this took us all by surprise.

Christine Ashby, our shop manager, was extremely grateful to the mystery person, and said “People have always been generous with the odd fifty pence, but I’ve never seen a £50 note in the box, never mind two folded together! Thank you whoever you are!!”

Thanks to this extremely generous individual, and many many others, the shop has already received nearly £300 in donations since the start of the year.
