Ian has worked for a number of years in East and Central London with NHS trusts ensuring that patients’ views are reflected in the design of NHS services and harnessed for health improvement. His company, Patient Powered Medicine, builds relationships with individuals and communities to aid feedback and collaboration. Previously, he was a hospital chaplain at Homerton and Newham hospitals.
Ian has founded several health-related interfaith and intercultural programmes, one of which – Communities of Health – won a Health Service Journal award and led to international representation for the UK Government and policy work in the Prime Minister’s Office of Public Services Reform. He is a frequent writer and speaker on issues of patient engagement and NHS governance.
