Guild Gifts for Barts Patients
December 23rd, 2024
Many of us will be looking forward to spending some quality time at home with family and friends or visiting our nearest and dearest during this festive week. But for some, Christmas will be spent at Barts as their care and treatment continues.
As is tradition, the Guild likes to provide our inpatients with a little holiday cheer and so a couple of weeks ago, our trusted ‘elves’ President Ann Wickham and Lesley Evans gathered in the Guild’s ‘secret grotto’ for a few hours and prepared our Christmas gifts.
Once they were all wrapped and packed, shop manager Andy Haddon guarded the secret stash until delivery ‘elves’ Ros and Danny (pictured) loaded up the trolley service, as they do each week, but instead of the usual drinks, snacks and confectionery, it was full to the brim with our gifts, which they distributed to the wards.
We’re extremely grateful to all those involved in this annual tradition and in particular we’d like to thank the staff at Barts who will be working on Christmas Day and throughout the holidays, and for their role in giving the Guild’s gifts to the patients on Wednesday.
From everyone at Barts Guild, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
