Neil has worked in the energy industry for over 40 years, initially with BP where he held technical positions in the UK, Egypt, France, USA, Australia and New Zealand before occupying senior managerial roles as International Chief Geophysicist, Head of Geoscience Research and Business Unit Leader for both BP Norway and then BP Alaska.

Subsequently he managed the international operations of Burlington Resources Inc. and was CEO at Regal Petroleum plc, before founding the Vanguard Energy Group where he remains Chairman and CEO.

Current interests are in the energy transition, with special emphasis on the exploration and production of helium and naturally occurring hydrogen.  He has a strong interest in medical research and has been an ambassador for Blood Cancer UK and for the Centre for Cancer Immunology at Southampton.
